Our current research

“The Australian carers study”

The Australian Carers study seeks to investigate the health of carers. We want to understand if being an unpaid, informal carer for a family member or friend increases the risk of suboptimal health status (SHS), as well as psychological symptoms including depression, anxiety, and stress. We want to identify “at-risk” carers so that we can develop targeted interventions accordingly.

“The Australian bereaved parents study”

The Australian Bereaved Parents study seeks to investigate the health of parents who have lost a child (0-18 years) within the last 5 years. We want to understand if bereavement increases the risk of SHS, as well as; depression, anxiety, and stress; post-traumatic stress disorder, and prolonged (complicated) grief. We want to identify “at-risk” parents, so that we can develop targeted interventions accordingly.
